Sustainability
Commitment to Financial Strength, Environmental Stewardship and Social Responsibility

Sustainability is about satisfying our current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same. In business, we often frame sustainability in terms of the triple bottom line- people, planet and profit. A comprehensive sustainability program focuses on improving conditions for employees and communities, advancing environmental stewardship and building the financial strength of the organization. Results translate into increased operating efficiencies, higher quality of service, a more productive workforce, increased revenue, lower operating costs, lower liability for the company and clients and an attractive opportunity for potential investors.
Clean Earth’s three year Sustainability Plan covers the time period of January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2014. The Plan provides an integrated approach to improving Clean Earth’s triple bottom line by framing goals and objectives of multiple disciplines in a unified sustainability perspective that aligns the Company’s goals with the interests and expectations of our primary stakeholders.
The Sustainability Plan includes five goals with short, mid and long-range targets. Metrics from the international standard in sustainability reporting, the Global Reporting Initiative’s G3 Guidelines, have been carefully chosen to reflect our progress towards each goal.
Routine reporting on the progress of Clean Earth’s sustainability goals ensures accountability and fosters efforts of continuous improvement. Clean Earth issues an annual report detailing our success, challenges and progress in meeting our sustainability goals.
