William R. Massa, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Massa is responsible as Chief Executive Officer for the management and operation of all of Clean Earth's facilities. Bill started his career as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the U.S. Navy. Since 1989 he has held a wide variety of operational and functional positions at several diverse Chemical companies. Most recently he was the Vice President and General Manager of the performance chemicals business of Celanese Corporation. He built this business from $150 million to $1.1 billion through acquisitions and organic growth. He has a strong track record of financial performance and growth accomplished by successfully building and leading strong management teams. Mr. Massa has a B.S. in Engineering from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Tricia L. Papile, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Papile brings breadth of experience and knowledge to Clean Earth. She joined Clean Earth to drive improvements in the finance area. She has over 14 years of accounting and finance experience, primarily in the chemical industry for companies such as Air Products, Cambrex and Celanese. She has extensive experience in financial analysis, merger and acquisition integration, Six-Sigma productivity and systems implementation. Ms. Papile most recently was the financial leader for a $500 Million Specialty Chemicals business for Celanese. In this role, she led significant performance improvement. Her track record for leading and delivering on key business initiatives will be instrumental in driving the strategy and delivering superior results for Clean Earth. Ms. Papile graduated from DeSales University, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Management, as well as a Master of Business Administration, University of Phoenix.
Michael B. Goebner, Senior Vice President - Facilities
Mr. Goebner is responsible for all operational and financial aspects for the four soil treatment/recycling facilities which are located in New Jersey (Clean Earth of Carteret), Pennsylvania (Clean Earth of Philadelphia), Delaware (Clean Earth of New Castle), and Maryland (Clean Earth of Maryland). Mr. Goebner has extensive experience running hazardous and non-hazardous waste treatment facilities including permitting, siting and government relations. His industry experience totals over 22 years. Mr. Goebner graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resource Management.
Steven C. Sands, Executive Vice President
Mr. Sands is currently President and CEO of the Clean Earth Dredging Technologies, Inc. division. As a co-founder of CEDT, Mr. Sands has developed technology and methods for stabilization and beneficial re-use of dredged materials. Mr. Sands’ responsibilities include business development and full operating profit and loss for the division. Mr. Sands has 16 years of experience in the environmental industry. Steven Sands graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
James F. Hull, Vice President- Sales and Marketing
Mr. Hull joined Clean Earth in 2006 and is responsible for all sales and marketing activities within the Company. Mr. Hull has over 17 years of waste industry experience, the last 13 being at Waste Management where he compiled an impressive record of growth and profitability. Mr. Hull graduated from West Virginia University with a BA in Liberal Arts.
Phyllis Onofrietti, Director of Human Resources
Ms. Onofrietti is responsible for the management and development of Human Resources and related functions for all Clean Earth facilities. She started her career in accounting with PSE&G. Since 1983 she has held a wide variety of HR management and generalist positions primarily in the environmental, manufacturing and waste industries in both union and non-union environments. She has been successful at integrating Human Resources into companies’ overall goals and objectives. Ms. Onofrietti brings extensive experience in employment law/labor relations, talent management, compensation/benefits, payroll, training analysis/development, organizational behavior, M&A transitioning, and legal compliance. Ms. Onofrietti graduated from Montclair University/Pace University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in HR Management/Labor relations New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
Averil B. Rance, Vice President of Environmental, Health & Safety
Mr. Rance brings over 20 years of experience in EH&S, for a number of companies including Philips Services Corp. (PSC); Phoenix Safety; ABB Environmental Services; Stout Environmental and Enviropact. His extensive knowledge and experience in regulatory compliance, operations, and general management will make Clean Earth a premier provider of environmental services. Mr. Rance graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Engineering, as well as a AHERA Certified Management Planner.
