In 2018, Clean Earth experienced dynamic growth, acquiring three companies, adding over 150 new team members and 5 new locations; expanding our company into new territories, new markets, and new waste streams. We immersed ourselves in a positive and powerful culture shift, blending the old with the new to create the New Clean Earth, with updated colors and branding. The company invested in our team members providing new personal and professional development opportunities, held healthcare cost, and expanded benefits. We looked inward and to our team and worked together to develop the company’s new vision, mission, and shared values which focuses not only on how we will thrive in our future together, but how every facet of Clean Earth becomes synonymous with quality disposal and recycling solutions.
This report details how sustainability is closely linked and intertwined with Clean Earth’s strategic plan in the specialty waste market across all divisions, planning for resiliency, and adapting to an ever-changing eco-social environment to pursue our company’s vision: To create a better future for our people, partners, and planet.
Our company’s mission is (simple, powerful, meaningful,): We turn specialty waste into recycling opportunities. And at Clean Earth, every day we are at the forefront of this mission across the nation. In 2018 alone, our company recycled 99% of the material we processed.
Beneath these results, our mission goes deeper. Our Kearny, New Jersey facility shipped 29,011 tons of waste via rail car reducing CO2 emissions by 1,264, doubling our results from 2017. Our aerosol waste stream recycled over 1.9 million pounds of metal and created 3.7 million pounds of alternate fuel.
Through acquisition expansion, organic growth, focused team member development and a newfound culture, Clean Earth’s growth journey is a sustainable one, one that is led and nurtured by each of us to create a better future for our people, partners, and planet.
